Did Major Nadal Malik Hasan use a FN 57 pistol in the Fort Hood massacre? The answer is Yes. According to the Associated Press shooter Maj. Nadal Malik Hasan used FN 57 pistol on Thursday. The controversial shooting issue involves the use of a controversial weapon too.
During the sad and shocking incident on Thursday November 5, 2009 as many as 13 persons lost their lives and more than 30 received severe injuries when a psychiatrist opened fires of nearby soldiers and civilians, unalarmed. 12 persons died on the spot whereas another one was reported dead later in the hospital. Among the dead, 10 out of 12 were soldiers.
There is a lot of controversy aroused after the incident as to what were the real factors behind the issue? All the media is engaged in the coverage and updates on the second incident of such kind wherein such a large number of Army personnel have been killed. Although the motive behind the killing has been described as Maj. Nadal’s enrage and anger over U.S. and other nations’ invasion in Iraq and Afghanistan, but investigations are ongoing to determine the truth
The late night update by Associated Press has invoked a new controversy be revealing that the shooter used a FN 57 gun. The question is whether how, where and why Maj. Nadal acquired a controversial weapon called The Five-Seven (marketed as “Five-seveN”) is a semi-automatic pistol in 5.7×28mm, an FN Herstal product?
Why would a doctor at a Readiness Facility need a most powerful type of combat weapon that was a U. S. federal ban target in 2005? The reports say that 39-year-old shooter Maj. Nadal purchased the pistol from a Kileen some months back. Certainly the new revelations are likely to change the direction of the ongoing investigations very soon.
