Tukwila, Washington— Latest reports about Christopher J. Monfort is that he has been shot in the head by the police officers and was taken to the hospital in a critical condition. Police were searching for 40-year-old Monfort as a man of interest in the shooting death of Seattle Police officer Timothy Brenton. Now he is under custody at Harborview Medical Center.
Shooting took place in Tukwila right after Officer Brenton’s memorial service at Seattle’s KeyArena. Several officers who were present in the memorial service left immediately as soon as they heard the word of shooting incident.
The suspect Christopher J. Monfort was at his apartment at 2:50 P.M. officers shot him in the head and immediately took him to hospital in Seattle, according to John Diaz, Seattle Police Chief. The man is in critical condition in the hospital and has undergone to surgery and is under police observation.
Reports show that the man Christopher J. Monfort has lived in California, Alaska and Washington, having a mysterious and eccentric history, described by some people who have some recognition towards him. Monfort’s past comprises a period of time in which he served voluntarily as a security guard for the US Civil Liberties Union and employment but apparently he has no criminal and offensive history.
Recently, in the past years he has been a student, formerly at Highline Community College, then at the University of Washington, where he studied law enforcement issues. He wanted to be a police officer. A former advisor said that he has a natural instinct towards leadership but his neighbors called him a weird and strange man.
