tallest-cat2Nov. 8, (THAINDIAN News) There are many people who love cats and keep them as pets in their homes. However, in very few household one can find a Savannah cat. It is said to be among the longest species of cats available in the world. Recently, a one-and-half year old Savannah cat hogged the limelight for being the tallest cat in the world. The feline is called Scarlett’s Magic by Kim Draper, her owner. She is amazingly tall for a domestic cat. From toe to shoulder she measures an astounding 17.1 inches.
Scarlett’s Magic may also be the world’s longest cat because she is almost 3.5 ft long. The owner of the cat revealed that she is a hybrid cat. The species is named F1 Savannah and it is the result of breeding between African Servals and ordinary cats. Kim, the cat’s owner is an expert breeder and she is of the opinion that the species comes very close to a wildcat. Kim is the owner of Savannah Cat Shoppe, based in California. She, along with her spouse Lee, looks after the business. They have extensive knowledge and experience in Savannah breeding. The couple feel that the Savannah makes up for an ideal loving and dependable pet that people should opt for.
The couple also owns an Oklahoma based Cattery named Bella Gattini. The popularity of the Savannah’s is on the rise in California, according to Kim. However, owing to some legal issues, the first two generations of these cats can not be kept by the residents of New York City. The inhabitants of California can adopt them anyway.
