Are Banks Open on Veterans Day

Are banks open on Veterans Day? Veterans Day is a federal holiday. But that doesn’t mean banks are closed. Malls, mass transit, and grocery stores are all open. But how about banks?
The answer is - some are, most are not.
In Minneapolis for example, Wells Fargo is closed while US Bank is open. In Iowa, 89% of all banks are closed. In Idaho, it just depends. While today is a federal holiday, banks have a discretion to be open or not. That decision is generally not branch by branch. If you are a customer of one banking institution, chances are all of its retail locations are open or closed today.
