WSOP 2009 Main Event Results: Joe Cada Wins World Series of Poker

Tuesday, November 10, 2009

The 2009 World Series of Poker main event results are in, and Joe Cada, a 21-year-old from Shelby Township, Michigan, has won, collecting $8.55 million and becoming the youngest champion ever.

Cada said afterward:

"I ran really well and I never really thought this was possible," Cada said. "It was one of those dreams and I'm thankful it came true. ... I only play good when my back's against the wall."

Gambling is in the Cada family; his mom, Ann Cada, is a dealer in a Detroit casino. Ann Cada exclaimed, "My baby!" after Joe won.

Joe Cada says his goal now is simple: "To win it back-to-back."
