In what were a terror filled 10 days of agony and insecurity, the man charged with the slaying of 10 sniper shot victims has been sentenced to death via lethal injection on Tuesday, November 10th, 2009. The individual held responsible for the killing spree is no other than John Allen Muhammad.
Now, after testifying in court three years back, the sniper’s young accomplice Lee Boyd Malvo has spoken up. The 24 year old said he is not proud of the acts he committed in association with John Allen and is attempting to make amends for what he has done.
During the trial, the then 21 year old Lee Boyd Malvo vocally sketched the plan behind all the murders. He also confessed to untruthfully accepting blame for pulling the trigger in each victim’s death. His reasons for stating falsely were no other than to shield John Allen from receiving a death sentence.
According to Lee Boyd Malvo’s statement in course of the trial, John Allen had envisioned to terrorize America’s capitol city of Washington DC. The latter went about bringing his plans to life when he shot his first victim on the 2nd of October in 2002. He would not stop for another ten days, till his arrest.
Lee Boyd Malvo and John Allen became acquainted through Lee’s mother Una in Antigua and Barbuda back in ‘99. It was a relation young Lee surely did not appreciate as was obvious & apparent when he stated he was turned into a “monster” by John Allen.
